Heeeeelllooooo!!
Hope your holidays have been ok ... even more than ok!! I have spent mine in Lisbon, Lyon, Barcelona, Aguilas and Cantabria...Iknow, Iknow... maybe it's been too much, but think that this is the first time I have enjoyed some real summer holidays. Anyway, God punished me... and I've been ill/injured most of the time...not to mention the rain...
What about you?? Be brave and leave your comments...

New summer hit (in England at least)
Hi my dearests...these days I'm (very) listening BBC Radio 1 (morning time), just to be in touchwith the English world in the mid of this French lands...this is a really catchy tune which I find really funny...hope you enjoy it!!
[Bruno Mars]
I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen
[Chorus]
Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire
[Travis "Travie" McCoy]
Yeah I would have a show like Oprah
I would be the host of, everyday Christmas
Give Travie a wish list
I’d probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that ain’t never had sh-t
Give away a few Mercedes like here lady have this
And last but not least grant somebody their last wish
Its been a couple months since I’ve single so
You can call me Travie Claus minus the Ho Ho
Get it, hehe, I’d probably visit where Katrina hit
And damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did
Yeah can’t forget about me stupid
Everywhere I go Imma have my own theme music
[Chorus]
Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire
[Travis "Travie" McCoy]
I’ll be playing basketball with the President
Dunking on his delegates
Then I’ll compliment him on his political etiquette
Toss a couple milli in the air just for the heck of it
But keep the fives, twentys (?) completely separate
And yeah I’ll be in a whole new tax bracket
We in recession but let me take a crack at it
I’ll probably take whatevers left and just split it up
So everybody that I love can have a couple bucks
And not a single tummy around me would know what hungry was
Eating good sleeping soundly
I know we all have a similar dream
Go in your pocket pull out your wallet
And put it in the air and sing
[Bruno Mars]
I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen
[Chorus]
I wanna be a billionaire so frickin bad!

Oral September!!
My dear friends...
Those of you who are requested to do your oral exam in September, it is going to be done on the 15 September. All of you are expected to be there at 16:30...your teacher is going to be Pilar, a very nice girl...so, don't be afraid nor nervous, everything is gonna be ok!!
Remember!! about 7 min. to prepare your speech (3 min.) on a topic chosen from two, that you'll have to pick up previously...
Then, an interaction with a classmate (about 4 min.)
While preparing, try to make a simple scheme about what you wanna say, using some specific vocabulary, two or three conectors and some interesting grammatical structure, such as a conditional or a passive..and you'll be done!!
Cheers!!

Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold you in my arms

A new facebook group!!
Hi there!!
Here you are the new facebook group...
I think you need to open your own profile in order to belong to this group. Then you look for the I1florca group (just like the blog name)and click on "join".
For the time being, this group will be a closed group, that is , just for us...Since I'm the creator, you'll have to wait till I give you the OK.
Later on, we'll decide if we want to include someone else...ok??
I hope you'll be "active" enough and visit it frequently, and contribute with all the videos, songs, links...that you may find interesting for your classmates....and remember, this is an ENGLISH group, you have to write in ENGLISH!!!
See you there!!

GOOD LUCK!!

14th March Lesson
Hi there!!
Yesterday we were talking about English & Spanish TV (7C), and reviewing some phrasal verbs that you will have to LEARN BY HEART (that is, to memorize). Next day we will work on the reading section and the writing, so be ready...
And to finish this musical week...(I think) this is the song Cecilia tried to sing yesterday...have a look to the lyrics, did you know who was she talking about?
If God had a name, what would it be
And would you call it to his face
If you were faced with him in all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question
And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
If God had a face what would it look like
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in jesus and the saints and all the prophets
And yeah yeah god is great yeah yeah god is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
He's trying to make his way home
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody calling on the phone
Except for the pope maybe in rome
And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if god was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
Just trying to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to heaven all alone
Just trying to make his way home
Nobody calling on the phone
Except for the pope maybe in rome

11th May Lesson
Hi there...
Yesterday we finished unit 6. My dears, we are entering the final stage!!
There is an end (The Greenhornes)
Words disappear,
Words weren't so clear,
Only echos passing through the night.
The lines on my face,
Your fingers once traced,
Fading reflection of what was.
Thoughts re-arrange,
Familar now strange,
All my skin is drifting on the wind.
Spring brings the rain,
With winter comes pain,
Every season has an end.
I try to see through the disguise,
But the clouds were there,
Blocking out the sun (the sun).
Thoughts re-arrange,
Familar now strange,
All my skin is drifting on the wind.
Spring brings the rain,
With winter comes pain,
Every season has an end.
There's an end,
There's an end,
There's an end,
There's an end,
There's an end.
Remember to do the Vocabulary and Grammar sections in 7B, and read the text in the Reading section too...
Have a nice day!!

Radiohead..."No surprises"
Hi there!!
Jesus asked me (via comments) to include this song in the blog, it is one of his favourites... If any other request, DJ-teacher at your service!!
Here you are the lyrics. Leave your comment...What is he talking about??
(click on comments, at the end of the post, just beside the pencil)
A heart that's full up like a landfill,
a job that slowly kills you,
bruises that won't heal.
You look so tired-unhappy,
bring down the government,
they don't, they don't speak for us.
I'll take a quiet life,
a handshake of carbon monoxide,
with no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
Silence, silence.
This is my final fit,
my final bellyache
with no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises please.
Such a pretty house
and such a pretty garden.
No alarms and no surprises (get me outta here),
no alarms and no surprises (get me outta here),
no alarms and no surprises, please.

This is a game to play. You have to click on the synonym you think is the correct one and so on...If you get it right, FreeRice donates 10 grains of rice to help end hunger. In the example above, you would want to click on .little,. which means .small.. You will then get a chance to do another word the same way. You can play as long as you like and donate as much rice as you like. When you are finished, you do not have to do anything, your donation is already counted.
The rice is paid for by the sponsors whose names you see on the bottom of your screen when you enter a correct answer.
If you click on subjects, you will find some other topics to play with...have fun!!!

That's all! Remember to bring your writings (flat, book and film) next day, ok??

A funny film to watch this weekend...
Hi there, here you are a funny movie to watch this weekend... enjoy it!!
The plot: Marion is a French-born photographer living in New York City with her neurotic, hypochondriacal, chain-smoking, heavily tattooed American interior designer boyfriend Jack. After a markedly unromantic trip to Venice, which was planned to re-ignite the passion in their relationship, they take a night train to Paris to pick up Marion's cat from her parents and decide to stay for two days. Jack is startled to learn Marion has remained in contact with numerous ex-lovers and becomes increasingly uncomfortable due to the language barrier and a multitude of his girlfriend's old flames he keeps meeting. Meanwhile, Marion wrestles with her own insecurities about love, relationships, and her impulsive nature.

The Guardian TV
My dear students,
There, on your right hand side, you will find a series of videos dealing with many different topics. It would be nice if, from time to time, you watched some of them, just for the aim of listening some english voices and at the same time, to increase your knowledge about the English world.
As I told you yesterday, this blog will be the means to get some extra materials to practice at home.
Any suggestion will be welcome!!

With a view to the exam...
Hi there!
First of all, a very "nice" irregular verb list (including pronunciation), if you click on the verbs you will find some examples.
Here you will have some extra materials in order to revise all those points we have seen in class since we started. You will find that most of them are games to play, so I think it is an interesting way to study the contents on your book. Remember, you have to press Ctrl + click to activate the link.

Have you seen these men?
Here you are, this is the listening we did last day. Listen to it carefully and read the transcript where I have underlined all those structures I have found interesting.
You can also try this exercise before reading the transcript.

14th January Lesson
Hi there!
Last day we started to deal with "appearances", pages 40 and 41 on your books. We learned some new adjectives included in the Vocabulary bank section, and exercised our "ears" by means of some listenings where some people were described. Next monday we will continue with the text on page 42-43, so please, read it at home. We will finish unit 3B (including the workbook) and we'll spend next week revising all those questions which may be considered as "problematic" with a view to the exam.
Remember, you have to choose your partner for the oral test... who are you doing it with?? tell me next day...
